Jackpota Pulls Out of Utah as State Law Tightens

Jackpota's affiliate team confirmed it no longer serves Utah residents, following a state law that narrowed the exemption sweepstakes casinos had relied on.

Jackpota has removed Utah from its list of eligible states, according to its own affiliate program - making it the first operator we've tracked to confirm an exit from Utah specifically.

The likely driver is Utah House Bill 243 (Gambling Revisions), which passed the state House 63-9 in February 2026, was signed by Governor Cox on March 25, 2026 after a Senate rewrite, and took effect May 6, 2026. The bill narrowed Utah's "fringe gambling" exemption so that a promotion no longer qualifies as harmless advertising if it requires a purchase to participate, simulates a gambling environment, or uses slot, poker, or bingo-style displays - language that squarely describes the Gold Coin / Sweeps Coin model most sweepstakes casinos run on.

As of this writing, no Utah court has applied HB 243 to a sweepstakes casino, no operator has been charged, and no cease-and-desist letters have been made public. Several other major sweepstakes casinos, including Chumba Casino, still listed Utah as available as of mid-October 2026 per third-party trackers. That makes Jackpota's move look like an individual compliance decision rather than an industry-wide exit - worth watching to see whether others follow.

We've updated Jackpota's listing on this site to reflect the change. If you're in Utah and currently playing on Jackpota, expect your account access to be restricted; check the operator's own terms for specifics on existing balances.
